WIRED@NIGHT02: A Special Film Screening
For the second WIRED@NIGHT event, WIRED presents a special screening of The Oldest Person in the World, a documentary that won’t be in theaters until September. The venue is the historic Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn.
About the Film
The Oldest Person in the World, directed by Oscar nominee Sam Green, is a decade-long global journey chronicling the ever-changing list of record holders for the title of oldest person alive. What begins as a portrait of longevity becomes a meditation on the passage of time, the randomness of fate, and the joy and profound human experience of being alive.
Post-Film Discussion
After the film, Sam Green will be joined by features director Reyhan Harmanci to talk about a very WIRED topic—longevity. They will discuss what we can learn from these “super agers,” and why people are so obsessed with the quest for a long life. Are we here for a good time, or a long time?
