Bhavin Turakhia Invests $30M of His Own Money in Neo
Indian serial entrepreneur Bhavin Turakhia, 46, is betting $30 million of his personal fortune on a new enterprise AI venture called Neo. The company aims to build a workplace platform that he argues cannot be achieved by merely adding chatbots to pre-AI software. Neo, launched internally in April 2026, combines project management, documents, file storage, and AI into a single product, designed from the ground up for the AI era.
A Structural Disadvantage for Incumbents
Turakhia claims that existing workplace software from giants like Microsoft, Google, and Salesforce cannot simply be upgraded with AI features. He compares the shift to building an iPhone from Nokia parts. Neo is model-agnostic, allowing enterprises to switch between AI providers. The startup is bootstrapped entirely with Turakhia’s own money, similar to his previous ventures like Directi, Radix, Titan, and Zeta.
Competitive Landscape
The enterprise AI space is crowded: Microsoft, Google, Salesforce, Anthropic, OpenAI, Notion, and Superhuman are all racing to embed AI into workplace tools. Even Chamath Palihapitiya initially self-funded his AI coding venture 8090. Despite this, Turakhia believes enterprise software is not winner-takes-all, stating, “Even if we end up with 2% to 5% market share, that’s larger than anything I’ve built so far.”
Development and Internal Use
Neo was built in just three months using AI extensively during development—work Turakhia estimates would have taken over a year with a larger team pre-generative AI. The Bengaluru-based startup currently employs 45 people, including 18 engineers, and plans to grow to 100 by the end of 2026. Neo is already in internal use at Turakhia’s companies, including Zeta, and will roll out to mid-sized businesses targeting knowledge workers in tech, consulting, and professional services.
